Kathleen M. O'Connor, J.D.
Kathleen ("Kitty") M. O'Connor received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University and her J.D. degree from New England School of Law, where she was a member of the New England Law Review and named a New England Scholar. She wrote Marital Property Reform in Massachusetts: A Choice for the New Millennium, [PDF] an article analyzing the spousal elective share in Massachusetts, which appeared in the Fall 1999 NEW ENGLAND LAW REVIEW. Ms. O'Connor is presently enrolled in the Master of Laws in Taxation program at Boston University School of Law. Before receiving her J.D. degree, Ms. O'Connor was a Contract Manager at Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Eckel, Morgan & O'Connor she was associated with The Law Office of William J. Brisk in Newton.
Ms. O'Connor's practice focuses on estate planning, probate administration, elder law, including Medicaid and long-term care planning, guardianships, and probate litigation.
She is an active member of the Women's Bar Association and was first elected to the Board of Directors of the WBA in 2003. She is currently serving as the President-Elect for the 2005 year and was the co-chair of 2005 the Gala Committee. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Women's Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the WBA. She is an active member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
She is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and qualified to practice before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Massachusetts Federal District Court.
Ms. O'Connor is married and resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She and her husband have five children and five grandchildren.
